It is my pleasure to welcome you to Farley Elementary School, home of the Farley Fox! The 2010-2011 school year marks the second
year of operation for our elementary school. It is hard to believe that the monumental first year for Farley has come and gone.
This past year provided time for students and staff to establish new traditions in a new facility in the Auburn-Washburn School
District. As a community, we boast five hundred students in kindergarten through sixth grade. We also are proud to include a
pre-school at Farley that serves approximately seventy-five students. From opening convocation to our Farley Fitness Day at the
conclusion of the year, students, staff and parents have many opportunities to come together as a school family.
The staff at Farley Elementary is top notch. We are proud to announce that all grade levels made Standard of Excellence in the
areas of both reading and math on the State Assessments in the 2009-1010 school year. The hard work of the teachers and students
as well as the tremendous support of the parents is what contributed to this colossal accomplishment. The Auburn-Washburn Schools
offers a viable curriculum that is aligned directly to the standards prescribed by the state and the teachers at Farley adhere
strictly to what is expected to be taught as well as learned.
Congratulations! You are joining a fabulous learning community. I look forward to serving you and your students. Farley
Elementary is earning a commendable reputation in the Topeka community, and I am thrilled that you have chosen to be a part of
our fine school!
Sincerely,
Marcy Cassidy
