Farley Elementary school is the newest edition to the Auburn-Washburn USD 437 school District. After the 2008 bond passed
the district started building its seventh elementary school to help with the growing enrollment.
The new school is named after Dr. Jerry and Susan Farley. Dr. Jerry Farley is the president of Washburn University.
Farley Elementary has been built to be a "green" school.
Here are some of the ways our building is "green":
- During construction the workers used long lasting & durable masonry.
- There are low maintenance brick masonry & prefinished metal exterior materials that require no future painting.
- When possible materials with recycled content were used.
- Over 90% of spaces have direct views to the exterior allowing natural light in.
As per district policy all doors are locked at the start of the school day. There are cameras on the entrance and a buzzer
next to the main doors. Once the doors are locked, anyone wishing to enter the building must use the buzzer which will alert
the office staff who will let you in. You will need to check in at the office before going anywhere else in the building.
